LOGODI Provides Customized Capacity Development Program for Mongolian Government Officials

From October 12th to October 20th, ten Mongolian government officials underwent a tailored capacity development program to gain insights into local government development and public service innovation in South Korea.

This program was initiated at the request of the Mongolian government, with the objective of enhancing the administrative competencies of local government officials. These competencies are crucial for the successful implementation of Mongolia's national long-term development plan, "VISION 2050," which is financially supported by the Mongolian government.

The participants in this program were carefully selected from a pool of more than 12,000 graduates of the Mongolian National Governance Academy (NAOG), an institution dedicated to training and educating Mongolian civil servants. These participants have been receiving education related to Mongolia's long-term national development since 2021. The ten selected participants demonstrated outstanding academic performance.

During their visit to South Korea, the Mongolian participants were introduced to various national development strategies, including South Korea's experiences with decentralization, economic revitalization, administrative service innovation, and the transition to the digital age. They also had the opportunity to visit key government agencies and locations related to regional tourism development, such as the Sejong Special Self-Governing City Unified Information Center, to gain firsthand insights into South Korean policy implementation.

President Ryu Im-cheol emphasized the significance of South Korea's role in conducting this tailored overseas training program for exceptional Mongolian civil servants. He expressed his hope that the experiences and insights gained by the participants in South Korea would be actively applied in the planning and execution of projects for Mongolia's development and the enhancement of its citizens' quality of life.

Since the year 2000, the Local Government Development Institute has been running capacity enhancement programs for foreign local government officials, with 219 courses and over 6,726 participants, contributing to South Korea's recognition as a globally influential nation.
