On October 26, LOGODI held its third international forum, LOGODI Global Forum 2021, with heads of international government officials education and training institutes from 13 countries, including the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of India, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Mongolia, the Republic of Union of Myanmar, the Republic of Peru, Republic of the Philippines, Republic of Senegal, the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, the United Republic of Tanzania, and the Republic of Uganda.
In 2019, in the context of efforts to contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals in its partner countries, LOGODI invited the heads of education and training institutions for government officials and hosted the first LOGODI Global Forum to promote international exchange and cooperation to share and disseminate experiences and new trends of human resource development in the public sector.
This year, with the theme of "New Strategies for Local Government Officials Training in the New Normal Era," thirteen representatives shared their cases and experiences on "Digital Training Platforms and Digital Competences of Local Government Officials" and "Resilient Local Governments and Roles of Government Officials Training Institutes."
Totally, about 80 domestic and foreign local government officials from 17 countries gathered to explore new strategies to transform public servant education and training for sustainable national development.
Dr. Park Sung min, professor of Sungkyunkwan University, gave a keynote lecture, "A Summary Report on HRD Trend Analysis & Redesign Strategies in the Civil Service." Following the keynote lecture, Mr. Kim Yonghae, General Director of Training Department, presented HRD innovation cases of the public sector in Korea. Dr. M Jae Moon, Professor of Yonsei University, moderated the case presentations and discussions of the forum.
Mr. Jeon Hae-cheol, Minister of the Interior and Safety, expressed his hope that the forum would be a platform for active discussions to draw up a progressive strategy for education and training for civil servants in the New Normal era.
